In the Dark Souls universe, the Abyss Watchers were a special fighting force designed to combat the ever-growing threat of the Abyss. Taking their inspiration from none other than Artorias, the Abysswalker, the group sought to learn his techniques and, empowered by his legacy, became strong and agile, almost taking on the form of a wolf pack when fighting together.
As such, throughout the events of Dark Souls III, players will find themselves going head-to-head with the Abyss Watchers in one of the game’s many boss fights, having to destroy them as part of the main quest that the Ashen One embarks on.
That being said, there is no denying that Artorias the Abysswalker is still one of the most iconic characters in Dark Souls, if not video game history, as, if it was not for him, the Abyss Watchers themselves would not be who they are when we first encounter them in Dark Souls III.
As such, First 4 Games has found a way to commemorate the Abyss Watchers in a brand-new figure. Available to pre-order now, yet coming in at a whopping $299.99, this is by no means an easy purchase, but if you are a true Dark Souls fan and avid collector, you may want to get your pre-order in now, whilst stocks last.
Set to launch at the beginning of 2027, the Abyss Watchers SD figure includes an adorable iteration of the formidable enemy, complete with a distinct helmet and sword. Then, if you peek under the helmet and past the high collar, you will see the glowing red eyes, showing just how much detail has been put into this upcoming release.
“First 4 Figures proudly presents, from the legendary DARK SOULS 3, the Abyss Watchers SD statue,” the official item description reads. “This statue expands the hugely popular F4F DARK SOULS SD line. The Abyss Watchers are a legion of undead warriors bound together by a single soul, eternally fighting the Abyss in their unending duty.”
Crafted from resin, the Abyss Watchers SD statue is heavily inspired by the Dark Souls III boss fight, with the little guy holding the Farron Greatsword in his right hand and a dagger in his left, “capturing the gesture seen in the cutscene before the boss fight.”
Complete with a base showcasing a distinct Souls-like artstyle, limited edition numbering, and an authentication card, the Abyss Watchers SD statue will make for the perfect addition to the shelf of any Dark Souls fan.
