Over 15 years after the release of Fallout: New Vegas, it sounds like the game will finally be getting a proper successor. Unlike the other modern Fallout games created by Bethesda Game Studios, New Vegas was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a studio created by ex-employees of Fallout 2 developer Black Isle Studios. In the years since its buggy release, it’s gained a reputation as a high point for storytelling in the Fallout universe.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment will now be developing another Fallout game, with New Vegas director Josh Sawyer at the helm. This news comes as part of a major Xbox shake-up, which has apparently also led to the cancelation of a planned sequel to Obsidian’s Avowed.
