It’s hard to believe that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is still chugging after four years. Pokémon games generally live well past their expiration date due to their interconnectivity, as some Pokémon cannot be earned through individual games, leading to dedicated players going back to earn isolated legacy ‘Mon.
Scarlet & Violet, in particular, offers many opportunities to capture original characters through its two DLC expansions. Generation 9 has 120 new Pokémon, which is only behind Gen 1, Gen 3, and Gen 5 in terms of the number of new characters.
Now, thanks to a new Pokémon Scarlet & Violet in-game event, you can grab a free super-rare ‘mon. You only have a limited amount of time to take advantage of it, though (via GameRant).
To everyone’s surprise, Game Freak announced another series of summer events for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. The game was released nearly four years ago, and Winds & Waves are literally on the horizon for 2027 (ushering in Generation 10), but Scarlet & Violet isn’t done yet.
Currently, you can snag a [Mightiest Mark] Hisuian Samurott from a 7-Star raid. This event will run through July 17, and it’s significant for several reasons. This is a Hisuian Samurott, which cannot be obtained through regular play in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. That form is primarily found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but it makes a special appearance in Gen 9 through July 17.
Interestingly, if you don’t own Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you can still participate in this event and grab one of the few exclusivesArceus offers. If you’re just a mainline Pokémon player, this is a must-play event. Previously, Hisuian Decidueye was available through July 2, after which Hisuian Typhlosion entered the fray that same day. Now, it’s Hisuian Samurott’s turn to shine.
If you’re looking to take out Hisuian Samurott in a raid, a powerful electric Pokémon should do the trick. Remember, it’s worth trying these raids a few times, because all you need is a solid group to finish them. 7-Star raids can be difficult for players who haven’t finished the game yet and don’t have access to powerful characters, but some groups are tailor-made to help those folks.
If you had a good time raiding in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it’s worth checking back in just to get an extra Hisuian starter. You have a timer, though, so make sure you download it now so you don’t forget later.
