Assassination Classroom is arguably one of the most popular Shōnen Jump anime series of recent decades. Released in 2015 and spanning two seasons, the anime successfully broke Shōnen Jump’s curse of disappointing endings, and its legacy was bolstered by a live-action adaptation, a spin-off manga, and additional chapters that complement the series finale. But while there have been various content rollouts over the years, the anime itself hadn’t seen any new material since the final episode aired on June 30, 2016. Fortunately, Assassination Classroom‘s new movie, made to celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary, just got a release date on Crunchyroll.
Just four months after its theatrical release in Japan, Crunchyroll confirmed on its official website that the new film Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time, which covers the manga chapters that weren’t adapted in the anime with extra scenes showing the characters as adults following the story’s conclusion, will be available on the platform starting July 23, 5:00 p.m. PT.
