Though it had a bit of a rocky launch in the grand scheme of things, Diablo IV really is still one of the absolute standouts in the genre. It’s also really continued to get better over the last few years, with both of the most recent expansions doing a great job of advancing the narrative, as well as the gameplay features on offer to players.
There are definitely areas where the game could still be improved, but fundamentally, it’s very solid these days, and well worth trying if you’re yet to do so. If it does sound like your jam, there is an ongoing offer that will let you have more of a look at the game, without buying the expansions, making it the perfect introduction if you’re unsure about risking your cash on everything Diablo IV has to offer.
As first reported by GG Deals, the free Warlock trial for Diablo IV is about to start today, alongside Season of Death Awakening. From June 30 to July 7, players can try the Warlock class entirely for free, on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation.
You can level the character all the way up to 30 as well, and if you do decide that you’ve had a great time and want to purchase the Lord of Hatred expansion (which includes the class), you can pick-up right where you left off.
It’s also a great time to get into the game more generally, with Season of Death Awakening bringing a whole host of new content for players to jump into and enjoy. Those include Pandemonium Ruptures, which allow you to take out hordes of enemies before defeating a boss and earning special loot for your character.
There’s a new seasonal boss in the Corrupted Reaper’s lair, as well as a new monster family in The Risen, which features Gravehounds and an additional boss-type enemy known as The Exarch.
Mythic Unique 3.0 is also going live, allowing players all new methods of crafting provided you have reached at least level 70 in Torment+. Though you won’t get to those elements for a little while, there are some excellent tangible changes that should feel very natural when you hit the endgame.
It’s all kicking off today, so you don’t even have to wait to get in on all the fun. All you need is a copy of the base Diablo IV release to get started, and then you can play most features over the course of the next week, allowing you to make an informed decision on the rest of the purchase.
