Paramount+ just officially dropped one of the best shows to binge-watch this weekend, with 10 brand new episodes available to stream right now. Following its gripping and tension-fueled first season that was released in 2024, this star-studded spy thriller features performances from a stellar ensemble cast, led by Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Jodie Turner-Smith, and more.
As of Sunday, June 21, 2026, the complete second season of The Agency is available to watch now on Paramount+. The Agency season 2 has several highly rated reviews thus far, improving on a solid first season that earned a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 77%. ScreenRant gave the sophomore season of The Agency a perfect 10/10 stars, noting, “Fassbender’s role as Martian in The Agency season 2 not only serves as an acting masterclass by one of Hollywood’s best dramatic stars, but it is also a lesson in how to build a complex and compelling protagonist.” These reasons and more prove why The Agency is officially a must-watch this weekend.
The Agency Season 2 Just Arrived On Paramount+ – What It’s About
Without getting into spoiler territory for the first season, The Agency season 2 follows Fassbender’s protagonist Martian, an elite and highly skilled CIA operative who was abruptly pulled off an undercover assignment to help locate a missing agent. Martian is brought back to a U.S. base in London, where he and his CIA superiors, played by Wright and Gere, are on the hunt for the missing CIA agent who possesses sensitive intel about a top-secret CIA agenda. Unsure if the agent was kidnapped, killed, or simply went rogue, Martian takes the reins of the investigation, all while concealing secrets of his own.
Although Martian has a hardened exterior, so much so that he often comes off as cold-hearted and emotionless, he is quietly a romantic and is in love with a woman named Sami he met while on his undercover mission, played by Jodie Turner-Smith. Even though Martian was extracted from his assignment, his desire for Sami becomes all-consuming and threatens not only his professional life and his own safety, but the integrity of the CIA itself. Prone to self-destruction and violent tendencies, Martian suffers through a downward spiral as he attempts to keep Sami in his life secretly while also obeying the command of the CIA, which inevitably creates massive conflicts.
The Agency Is One Of This Weekend’s Best New Shows To Binge
Following the events of The Agency season 1, The Agency season 2 is now one of the best shows to binge this weekend, especially since all ten episodes arrived on Paramount+ all at once. Last season, the series was released in weekly episodic installments, but season 2 takes a different approach for fans to enjoy every new episode immediately, much like Netflix. In fact, binge-watching The Agency is a much more enjoyable viewing experience than waiting each week for a new episode, particularly because the story is so immersive, the acting is top-notch, and the series overall has an addictive pace, which makes it hard to stop watching.
Netflix’s New 8-Part Thriller Is Officially A Must-Watch Weekend Binge
Netflix just released a new 8-part thriller series that is officially a must-watch weekend binge due to its strong premise and talented ensemble cast.
Each episode of The Agency season 2 runs between 47 and 50 minutes, making it possible to start and finish the entire series in just one day. That said, it may be more comfortable to binge the entire series in a few sittings, and the plot can be quite dense, and there are a lot of moving pieces that viewers will have to take note of and keep track of. In addition to Martian’s main dilemma, Saura Lightfoot-Leon’s Danny serves as a secondary protagonist and is on an undercover mission at the nuclear research center in Tehran. With so much rich plot and character development to sink your teeth into, The Agency is one of the greatest shows for a weekend binge on Paramount+.
