Scarlet Witch has had a heck of a run in the MCU alone, much less the Marvel universe as a whole. Although her iconic stories date back decades, she’s been introduced to a completely new generation of fans through Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal, which has been a standout for the franchise, and is collected across films and TV.
WandaVision was so popular that it spawned a trilogy of TV shows, and she had a prominent role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which grossed nearlya billion at the box office. You could say she’s a fan favorite, and her high power level often moves stories along or creates a massive conflict.
Over on X, fans are discussing Scarlet Witch’s latest return, and things are looking pretty positive.
Recently, Marvel Rivals revealed a new costume for Scarlet Witch based on her appearance in the MCU film The Age of Ultron. It was the character’s official MCU debut alongside Quicksilver, and while the latter hasn’t gotten much traction in the Disney universe, Scarlet Witch has remained a staple for ages, playing a prominent role in the plots of multiple stories.
This led to a celebration of the MCU performance of Elizabeth Olsen in the series, and a welcome return for the outfit: As the original post notes: “A first look at the Age Of Ultron Scarlet Witch skin, and she looks utterly perfect. I WOULDN’T CHANGE A SINGLE THING.”
As one fan puts it, it’s been a long time coming: “She also loves the journey she’s had with this character and fans love the AOU debut look. And yes I’m also very happy that she eventually got a costume that she was comfortable in to perform stunts and whatnot. Her look post full Scarlet Witch transformation in WandaVision will always be top tier!”
Others are excited to play her again: “Yay, one of the best designs and with the strange ability now being base kit (and i think buffed) she bout to shred”
So far, it’s not clear how fans will get this skin, but some have an idea: “Pretty sure the Age of Ultron event is still scheduled for during season 9/9.5, so like Avengers 1 Iron Man and Loki, it’ll likely be a standalone store purchase.”
While the skin is getting near universal praise, some folks are confused about whether we’ll get an actual Ultron skin for an event celebrating Age of Ultron: “It’d be an extremely baffling choice not to include a skin for Ultron in an event based on the movie called Age of Ultron.”
If you’re a Marvel Rivals fan and enjoy earlier MCU flicks, the event might be a good time to drop back in. The game is made for quick detours every so often between seasons, so it’s not hard to go back.
