NCIS‘s Tony & Ziva are confirmed to be reuniting.
During the 2025-2026 TV cycle, the NCIS franchise reunited its most famous couple for the first time since both left the Major Care Response Team. NCIS: Tony & Ziva marked a lot of milestones for the universe. It was the first comeback offshoot in the franchise, as well as the first one to land on Paramount+ instead of airing on CBS. Despite the excitement for Tony and Ziva’s new chapted, the show was canceled after just one season.
Unlike other shows in the universe, NCIS: Tony & Ziva wasn’t the traditional procedural. In the Europe-based offshoot, the pair was raising their daughter, Tali, in Paris, living a more quiet life than the one they led when they were both active agents in Navy Yard. Their lives were upended, however, when a major crisis hit Tony’s security firm. At the end of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, they were officially back together, which was a great place to end their narrative. Still, it would have been great to see more of them.
On the heels of Tony’s confirmed NCIS season 24 return, Weatherly and de Pablo are reuniting for the first time for Comic Con Midlands in Birmingham, United Kingdom. As confirmed on the event’s site, they are going to be available for photo opportunities for both July 11 and 12, on top of the expected panel. Weatherly even posted on his official Instagram account an update on their appearance. Check it out below:
When news broke about Weatherly’s season-long stint in NCIS, the immediate question after was Ziva’s status. Considering where their spinoff left them, it seemed odd that they would be willing to be separated for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, CBS declined to comment when asked about the matter. Admittedly, this is better than a direct no, as it means that there’s still hope that de Pablo will be involved in the flagship.
Both characters have returned to Navy Yard since their respective exits from the flagship. That said, they haven’t done it together. Given the events of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, this will be the perfect opportunity to do that. Not only will it be nostalgic to see their homecoming, it will also be nice for them to catch up with Timothy McGee, given everything that has happened to him in the last year.
Admittedly, the challenge will be to balance NCIS season 24‘s story in a way that they won’t overshadow the flagship’s own stories. The flagship has a lot of elements that are currently up in the air now, so even without Weatherly’s confirmed return, viewers have a lot to look forward to. Perhaps de Pablo can address questions about Ziva’s absence in light of Tony’s Washington DC return during their upcoming con appearance.
