The following article contains a brief discussion of suicide and other intense themes.
One Piece episode #1163 was one of the anime’s most beautiful and emotional episodes to date, and it left plenty to be excited about for episode #1164 and beyond. Fans have been waiting for Robin and Saul’s reunion on Elbaph for over two years now, and suffice to say, the anime succeeded with it in almost every regard.
With the Straw Hats finally reunited on Elbaph, their first order of business was seeing Robin reunite with Saul following the revelation that he had survived the Buster Call and had been living on Elbaph for the past 22 years. On their way there, it seemed like there would be unexpected drama making things harder for Robin, but after everything Robin had been through, she wasn’t willing to let it stop her, and she was all the better for it.
What Time One Piece Episode 1164 Releases
As with previous episodes, the One Piece anime streams new episodes weekly on Crunchyroll and Netflix, which can be accessed through their apps, websites, or third-party websites like Amazon Prime. Assuming there are no delays, One Piece episode #1164 should premiere on Crunchyroll on Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST), 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), and 5:00 PM British Summer Time (BST), with the same episode debuting the following Saturday on Netflix, as well.
What Happened In One Piece Episode 1163?
One Piece episode #1163, “I Want You to Praise Me – The Reunion of Robin and Saul”, opened with a flashback to Robin’s childhood when she was first branded a criminal and a demon following the destruction of Ohara. Robin was constantly on the run from people trying to kill her and tell her that she had no right to live, and at one point, Robin did try to kill herself, but she only stopped because of Saul and her mother’s words, even if she didn’t believe there was a point to staying alive.
Back in the present, the Straw Hat Pirates were finally reunited on Elbaph, but while the giants wanted to prepare a feast for them, they put it on hold to join Robin for her reunion with Saul. Gerd brought them to the Owl Library, where Saul worked as a history professor, but when they landed, a giant told them that Saul had suddenly collapsed on the lake shore. Robin, however, was surprisingly unfazed, and she went off alone to see Saul on the beach.
One Piece Is Repeating The Same Major Mistake That Killed Naruto’s Ending
As god-tier enemies shatter the power scale, One Piece is walking right into Naruto’s most divisive endgame trap.
Sure enough, Saul was completely fine, and it was just that he was so nervous about seeing Robin that he tried to cut the tension by recreating their first meeting. Saul then explained that he survived because the Buster Call only melted Aokiji’s ice, but all Robin wanted to hear was praise for being alive. What followed was a montage of all the good times Robin had with the Straw Hats, and the episode ended on Robin and Saul’s tearful embrace after missing each other for so many years.
One Piece Episode 1163 Is The Anime At Its Peak
There was incredible hype for One Piece episode #1163, and it more than lived up to the hype. Robin and Saul’s reunion was as emotional as one would expect and a perfect way of rewarding Robin for all the suffering she had gone through, and between the gorgeous animation from Vincent Chansard and Yasunori Koyama, the montages of every good and bad moment in Robin’s life, and the beautiful insert song from Maki Otsuki, it was even more emotional than the original manga.
One Piece has always been at its best when delivering on big, emotional moments, especially ones with years or decades of payoff, and the near-perfect execution of Robin and Saul’s reunion is one that’s bound to go down as one of the anime’s best. One Piece episode #1163 is easily the best episode of the Elbaph arc to date, and it will be great to see what episode #1164 does to follow it up.
Be sure to watch One Piece episode #1163 when it premieres on May 31 on Crunchyroll.
