Another month is finally upon us and yet, in true Steam fashion, another bundle of free games is up for grabs. Available until 1 September, eight unique titles have been made available as part of an online membership, giving members access to hidden gems as well as one incredible JRPG that is guaranteed to see August pass in a blur.
This collection comes courtesy of The Humble Choice membership, which gives Steam users access to a selection of free games each month. Not only that, but this membership also comes alongside access to a large library of games, membership deals on brand-new releases, access to IGN+, and even a small donation to charity. Not only is this a great way for PC gamers to save money on a wide selection of games, but the benefits available for a small monthly fee are not to be scoffed at.
So, for August 2026, here are the current games available with The Humble Choice membership:

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Released back in 2024, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the ninth main installment in the Like a Dragon franchise. Following the story of Ichiban Kasuga, the protagonist of previous entry Yakuza: Like a Dragon, as well as Kazuma Kiryu, another former protagonist, we join them as they go in search of Kasuga’s mother in Hawaii.
Currently sitting at an impressive 8.5 User Score on Metacritic, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of the most successful in the franchise, which makes it all the more impressive that it is now available for free as part of The Humble Choice library.

Dead Cells (+ Bad Seeds DLC)
Released in 2018, Dead Cells is an indien roguelike-Metroidvania where players take on the role of an amorphous creature called the Prisoner. In order to slay the island’s king, the Prisoner must battle their way out of their diseased island by exploring ever-changing castles, engaging in 2D souls-lite combat and, most importantly of all, not dying, as this action-platformer does not feature any checkpoints. With an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, this roguelike is considered one of the best, and for good reason.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge (Ultimate Edition)
This 2022 beat ’em up game inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is also available as part of August’s The Humble Choice library as players take on the role of the famous four: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael, as they “kick shell.” With art inspired by the Turtles’ legendary 1987 design, Shredder’s Revenge features multiple modes, 6-player co-op, and radical combos that are a delight to master. With the Ultimate Edition featuring the core base game alongside all major downloadable content (DLC) expansions, you do not want to miss out on this deal if you are in search of a classic beat ’em up.

Decktamer
Now one for the card fans as Decktamer promises to offer hours of fun as players combine deck-building and monster catching in this turn-based roguelike. As you dive into the depths of the abyss, you will recruit enemy cards to your team, but whether you save them or kill them is entirely up to you. With a Very Positive rating on Steam, Decktamer is a true example of a hidden gem.
4
Conquest Dark
In this highly-rated ARPG, players will quickly ascend in power as they master devastating sword and sorcery combat, perfect their builds and decide the fate of humanity in this Bullet Hell title, which tasks you with surviving endless hordes of enemies across the haunted ruins of ancient kingdoms. With no two runs being the same, each death is a lesson, and soon, you will have untold power just at your fingertips in Conquest Dark.
3
Gatekeeper
Another fast-paced rogue-like is up for grabs courtesy of Gatekeeper. As you fight to reclaim the stolen Heart of Time, you will need to chase down Chaos by fighting through relentless hordes of enemies. However, with the clock forever ticking, it will be up to you whether to go it alone or team up with friends in 4-player co-op. If you succeed, you may just become the next Gatekeeper.
2
Pile Up!
Now it is finally time for something a bit more relaxing as The Humble Choice library also has Pile Up! available as part of its August collection. In this strategic building game, players are tasked with building houses, fulfilling client requests, and managing a series of risky buildings across a precariously small land. Although it may look like a chilled out experience on the outside, Pile Up! still has its challenges, so just don’t let your guard down.

Dark Envoy: Director’s Cut
Last, but by no means least, is Dark Envoy: Director’s Cut. Released back in 2023, this steampunk-inspired real-time tactics title will see you lead a party of relic hunters in an epic CRPG adventure set in a war-torn Guns N’ Sorcery world. With both a tactical slow-mo and a modern combat system to master, players can expect to immerse themselves in an RPG built on classes and specializations, as well as have the ability to approach each battle in new and unique ways.
