A full season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western series rides onto free streaming next week.
Sheridan has built a modern television empire, co-creating Yellowstone (2018–2024) and expanding its world with the prequels 1883 (2021–2022) and 1923 (2022–2025). He then branched into Paramount+ with the crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown (2021–), the mob-driven Tulsa King (2022–), the espionage series Lioness (2023–), and the oilfield drama Landman (2024–). Now, his popular Western series is riding back into view with a full season set to stream for free next week.
Two years after its conclusion, Yellowstone season 5 officially sets a free streaming release next week. The fifth and final season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit neo-Western series consists of 14 episodes, which aired in two separate parts, following John Dutton (Kevin Costner) as he becomes the Governor of Montana to protect his land, escalating a deadly war between his children.
Now, following its conclusion in 2024, Yellowstone season 5 will be available to stream free on Pluto TV for the first time, starting on July 5. The entire series, seasons 1–5, is currently streaming on Peacock and is also available to rent or buy on platforms like Prime Video from $14.99.
Yellowstone season 5’s cast also includes Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, Kelsey Asbille as Monica Dutton, Gil Birmingham as Chief Thomas Rainwater, Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Finn Little as Carter, Mo Brings Plenty as Mo, and Wendy Moniz as Governor Lynelle Perry.
Yellowstone season 5 received positive reviews, resulting in a 79% Rotten Tomatoes score, with critics praising it for charging into the political arena with a distinctly nonpartisan stance, venturing onto uncertain ground while keeping its footing, with Kevin Costner’s steady presence continuing to serve as a crucial anchor.
The final season broke ratings records for Yellowstone, with both parts delivering the show’s biggest premiere night audience ever. However, as a whole, the final season received mixed reactions from audiences, resulting in a 41% score from that group, mostly due to the departure of Kevin Costner before the second half.
Since then, the Yellowstone franchise has expanded to include the spin-offs/sequels, Marshals (2026–) and Dutton Ranch (2026–), on which Sheridan serves as an executive producer. Now, fans can catch up on or revisit the final season on free streaming and see why Yellowstone still has such a huge following.
