In the Lands Between, Queen Marika is one of the most influential figures despite being an enigma throughout most of the game. As the mother of the demigods we battle throughout Elden Ring, Queen Marika is responsible for The Shattering, which triggers the game’s events, but in this brand-new release, players can become the iconic figure for the first time.
Created by TomJerry125, Queen Marika Full Playable does exactly what it says on the tin by allowing Elden Ring players the chance to take on the role of Queen Marika as they journey through the Lands Between in what many consider to be FromSoftware’s magnum opus. Despite being released for the first time back in June, this free-to-download mod already boasts over 400 downloads, showing that the mysterious Elden Ring figure still manages to capture our imaginations to this day.
Arriving alongside a boss-inspired move set, unique attacks, animations, and a divine combat style, Queen Marika is guaranteed to devastate the battlefield, even if that means taking on her own children and consorts along the way.
“Become the Queen herself and wield the full power of Marika,” the mod description reads. “This mod lets you play as Queen Marika, replacing your character’s moveset with her boss abilities. Experience her divine attacks, graceful animations, and powerful combat style inspired by her appearance in the game.”
Designed to work seamlessly alongside the latest version of Elden Ring, the Queen Marika Fully Playable mod comes alongside detailed instructions on how to install it to your game if you happen to own the FromSoftware title on PC, so do not worry if you are new to the world of modding.
Although there have been plenty of players over the years who have added Queen Marika to their game by replicating her likeness in character customization, this mod allows the character herself to be added, acting not just as a character skin, but as a fully-fledged hero with her own moveset and abilities.
Not only that, but it starts a discussion as to whether bosses we fight along the way should become playable characters at the end of Souls game. Imagine replaying Elden Ring but as Malenia for example, complete with her Water Fowl dance. It is safe to say that combat would be a lot easier and more exciting.
For now, however, mods such as Queen Marika Fully Playable are the closest we are going to get, but with a large fanbase already behind it, it is definitely the next best thing for Elden Ring.
